I’ve written about such things from a church standpoint over the last few years recommending people get ready. Well, here we are.

Below is a link to a Substack article by a brother named Britt Gillette who tracks and reports on such things. I’m sure you’ve heard some rumblings about shortages but this is much more specific about what to expect.

Most of this is tied to Chinese products that we’ve come to rely on, including some medications that are not manufactured here in the US.

Eventually a trade deal will happen I suppose but keep in mind that entire factories in China are closing. Their economic situation is worse than ours. Many companies have already exited China and are setting up in Southeast Asia.

If a factory closes and a trade deal is made, many of those factories are gone and won’t come back immediately if at all. So expect a slow ramp up back to normalcy and generally higher prices unless we can find other suppliers (highly likely).
